High Country Health Care System is a non-profit, private, community based, home health care organization that has been in the business of providing home health services to Alleghany, Ashe and Watauga counties for over 30 years. We operate through a joint venture of Ashe Memorial Hospital and Appalachian District Health Department. High Country Health Care System is accredited by the  Joint Commission .

The mission of High Country Health Care System is to provide comprehensive and quality services in the home at a reasonable cost to residents of our service area, to provide health education, to promote healthy living and maintenance of a safe home environment.
